Advice for Vendors
We pride ourselves in our prompt payments. These are made by cheque posted on the evening of the sale with detailed sale results of each lot entered. For consignments divided between different sales, payment follows sale of the total consignment.
When Considering Selling
Whether your selling a treasured possession, a specialist collection or your complete house contents, our experienced staff will be pleased to give you sound presale valuation advice at the Auction Rooms or, where appropriate, your house.
Our salerooms are open to receive goods on Saturday mornings 8.30am - 12.00pm or alternatively by arrangement. The salerooms do fill quickly and thus a prior phone call is advisable.
More specialised or larger consignments will need to contact our auction office to delivery.
Charges for Vendors
Entry fee: £2.50 per lot (sold or unsold.)
Selling commission per lot: 12.5% on the first £1,000, 5% thereafter.
Unsold reserve charge: 1.5% of the value
All charges subject to VAT.
Our Collection Service
Full or part house clearances are provided by Paul Womack, an assistant whose integrity, care and courtesy is of the highest order. The collection service is available at £60 per hour with additional fees applicable for more specialist collections (Pianos collected charged at time plus an additional £35). Due Diligence Policy
The Diss Auction Rooms work alongside the Police and operate a Due Diligence Policy to help prevent the sale of stolen goods through auction and thus hopefully deter initial theft. We ask vendors to sign a declaration of ownership and we make payment by cheque to their home address
