Stay safe with us

Stay safe with us

We are delighted to be allowed to hold onsite auctions again and the wellbeing of our customers and our staff remains our number one priority. The Government have introduced this latest restriction lifting as being irreversible, but of course that could change and operationally we may need to continue to make adjustments. We therefore request you visit our social media pages or this website for all the latest information on when and where sales are and to help everyone stay safe.

What to expect at Diss Auction Rooms

Space for Everyone

To ensure space for everyone we have put limits on the number of people in our buildings, which may mean you have to wait. Queuing spaces for reception are clearly marked and we ask that you observe them closely.

As an auction house with one of the largest sale grounds in the country, outside space is much more available, thus allowing space for you to keep your distance from other customers and auction staff. You’ll find lots of reminders on display around the sale ground.

Activities during non-public days remain in operation by appointment only.

Keeping it Clean

We’re keeping the sale ground extra clean, disinfecting busy spaces and surfaces regularly and thoroughly. We recommend you use our complimentary cleaning stations available in reception, any open Salerooms and Café 1857.

Cover up

If viewing and handling lots gloves are required and we have disposable pairs for your use. Face masks are required in our offices, our salerooms and our delivery stores so please make sure you have one with you on all visits to the Diss Auction Rooms. Our staff will also be wearing coverings in public spaces. We have a supply of coverings you can purchase (all money going to our charity of the year) should you forget yours as entry to the buildings will be refused if you are not wearing one.

Cashless Payment Preferred

Contactless payment is the preferred method of payment currently. However, we are still accepting cash (this may take a little longer due to the extra sanitization required).

Focused events

We understand that part of the attraction of a visit to the Diss Auction Rooms is the unrivalled variety of what we have to offer. In the short term we are working hard on events open to the public, albeit, in an extremely focused way. For example, although safety reasons have meant a change to our opening hours, all our services are now available via appointments and, as you would expect, they are proving extremely popular.

Takeaway Service

On advertised public auction days, and our weekly Thursday viewing, Café 1857 will be open for a takeaway service and outside table service to keep you topped up.

The NHS COVID-19 app

Around the site we have our venue QR code on display for your use. All visitors need to scan the QR code when they arrive, using the NHS COVID-19 app. Please note there is a separate code for Cafe 1857 and the Diss Auction Rooms, if you are using both venues you will need to scan both codes.

Look forward to seeing you
