A circa 1750 Japanese hammered iron sword guard (tsuba) of large proportions. It has two holes for kogai and kozuka of rounded rectangle form, measuring 85 x 77mm, blade hole 27 x 8mm. It is designed to represent the night sky with gold, silver copper and brass pins set in the unevenly hammered iron to represent stars. With storage box

A pair of circa 1800 Japanese Round Tsubas with ginko leaf design, used for long and short sword set. Each has one hole for Kozuka (knife in scabbard). The larger measures 75mm in diameter with a hole for sword blade measuring 29 x 8 mm. It is engraved with Mount Fuji, vine leaves and grass. The smaller measures 71 mm in diameter with a hole for sword blade measuring 27 x 7 mm.
