Advice to Vendors

Prompt Payment

We pride ourselves in our prompt payments. These are made by cheque posted on the evening of sale with detailed sale results of each lot entered. For consignments divided between different sales payment follows sale of the total consignment.

When Considering Selling

A treasured possession, complete house contents or a specialist collection, our experienced staff will be pleased to give you sound presale valuation advice at the Auction Rooms or, where appropriate, at your home, free of charge and without obligation.

Entering Items

Our Salerooms are open to receive goods on Saturday mornings 9.00am-12.00pm or alternatively by arrangement. The Salerooms do fill quickly and thus a prior phone call is advisable.

Specialist Advice

More specialised or larger consignments will need to contact our auction office to delivery.

Charges to Vendors

Entry fee: £2 per lot (sold or unsold.)
Selling commission per lot: 12.5% on the first £1,000, 5% thereafter.
Unsold reserve charge: 1.5% of the value
All charges subject to VAT.

Our Collection Service

Full or part house clearances are provided by Paul Womack, an assistant whose integrity, care and courtesy is of the highest order.

Due Diligence Policy

In support of COPAT and the Norfolk Constabulary the Diss Auction Rooms operate a Due Diligence Policy to help prevent the sale of stolen goods through auction and thus hopefully deter initial theft. We ask vendors to sign a declaration of ownership and we make payment by cheque to their home address
