Buyers Registration
Before bidding please obtain your personal buyer’s number. Please note that some form of personal identification will be required to confirm your address details. If you become a regular buyer at the Diss Auction Rooms a permanent buyer’s number can be issued.

Ways of Bidding

In Person

If you are attending the sale then you can bid in person. Ensure that you have the attention of the auctioneer during bidding and upon purchasing either show, or advise the auctioneer of your buyer’s number.

Remote Bidding
If you cannot attend the sale there are various ways that you place your bids. For more information please see the Remote Bidding page.

Buyers Premium
A Buyer’s Premium of 12.5% is payable on the hammer price (Plus VAT on the Premium).

Payment for Purchases
We require settlement of all purchases on the day of sale or, if purchased by a remote bid, immediately upon advice of your purchase. Once satisfactory settlement has been made collection of the items can then be made.
All accounts to be settled in Sterling.

Methods of Payment

Credit cards

Visa and Mastercard cards accepted, subject to 1.5% surcharge (plus VAT on surcharge). Payments exceeding £1000 can only be made by the cardholder in person.

Debit Cards

Delta and Switch debit cards accepted - no charge. Payment by Non-Uk Debit Cards are subject to 1.5% surcharge. (plus VAT on surcharge).

Cash

Payment by cash enables collection of lots immediately after payment. Cash payments in excess of £5000 are not accepted.

Cheque

If supported by a cheque card to the cheque card limit, will enable lots to be collected immediately. For larger payments by cheque we reserve the right to clear the cheque before the lots can be collected.

For large transactions we offer Online bank transfers. Please include your name and buyers number with your instructions to your bank, and send to:

Clients transferring money from accounts registered outside the UK will be liable to pay a fixed £12 handling charge. This covers any bank fees incurred during the transfer and should be added to any your invoice total at point of payment.

Lots indicated with a symbol “i” are sold inclusive of VAT in the hammer price. Your invoice will show the element of VAT.


Accounts not paid within 14 days will automatically be subject to am interest charge of 5% above Barclays Bank base rate from the day of sale.
